91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Lady Vikings Split Games with Ranger


91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ's effort to come back from down four runs in the first inning came up just short in Game 1, as they fell 6-5 to Ranger on Monday, Mar. 20. 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ scored five runs in the failed comeback on a single by Jacye Grimm in the third, a single by Baylee Goolsby in the fifth, a by Marcella McKinney in the fifth, and a groundout by Jodie Hill in the sixth.

91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ couldn't keep up with Ranger early in the game. Ranger scored on a walk , a home run by Lindsey Honeycutt, and a single by Macey Marino in the first inning.

Ranger captured the lead in the first inning. A wild pitch by Kylie Williams scored one run for Ranger.

Julia Wright earned the win for Ranger. She tossed seven innings, allowing five runs, six hits, and striking out four.

Jacye Grimm went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ in hits.

Ranger collected ten hits. Madi Stark, Chandon Morris, Mallery Marino, and Marino each collected multiple hits for Ranger. Stark led Ranger with three hits in four at bats.

Things took a different turn when 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ took the lead late and defeated Ranger 8-3 on Monday in Game 2. The game was tied at three with 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ batting in the top of the eighth when Shelby Fleming hit a grand slam off of Levario, driving in four runs.

91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ earned the victory despite allowing Ranger to score three runs in the seventh inning. Ranger's big inning was driven by a single by Cuevas and a double.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Ranger tied things up at three. A wild pitch by Olivia Gutierrez scored two runs for Ranger.

Home runs for 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ came when Shelby Fleming homered in the eighth inning and Desiray Sauseda homered in the eighth inning.

Fleming led 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ with four runs batted in. She went 1-for-2 on the day.

Next the Lady Vikings take on Temple in Denison at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 22.
